What can I do as a BCaBA?

Professionals in applied behavior analysis engage in the specific and comprehensive use of principles of learning, including operant and respondent learning, in order to address behavioral needs of widely varying individuals in diverse settings*. BCaBAs function as individual clinical assistants or are employed in numerous fields. These include education, behavioral medicine, mental health, disability, children's services, business, and institutions of higher learning. It’s worth noting a career based on autism studies doesn’t solely exist for school age-children; pre-school, college aged, adults and seniors also benefit from a wide variety of applied behavior applications.

The Value of a BCaBA In Career Advancement

The BCaBA certification is internationally recognized and states that a person has achieved a specific skill level and has passed an exam to demonstrate competency in behavior analysis. Due to the high number of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and the relatively low number of certified behavior analysts, employment prospects for this field are excellent.
